Yes, the rumors are true. I’m creating a blog. This is embarrassing, and I’m gonna do it anyways.
For those that don’t know me, hello! My name is Oscar. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you stay for what follows!
For those of you who do know me, you might be thinking “Why are you doing this? What is wrong with you? I didn’t know you could read and write, et cetera, et cetera.” That makes perfect sense. After all, the only thing I’ve ever done and actively promoted was in the performing arts space.
Well, it turns out I put all my creative eggs in one very delicate basket, and then that basket was lit on fire (not great for the eggs) and was stomped out mercilessly (eggs are broken now for sure.) It’s taken me a while to figure out the solution for my passion being cruelly wrenched out of my hands, but I think I’ve got it: I’m going to spread the smushed eggs around and create the thinnest omelette imaginable, then I’m going to cut it up and put those mini-omelettes into many different fireproof baskets.
Convoluted metaphor aside, I truly am going to throw myself into as many creative outlets as I possibly can, starting with blogging. This is a promise to myself to keep learning everything I can, to stay disciplined and focused on doing things for me. I feel like I spend far too much time consuming content, and I want to find my way back to creating. I just want to talk about new things I’m learning about – whether it’s web development, UX/UI design, or even things that are way out of my knowledge sphere, like financial literacy. I also am going to be writing about things I genuinely love, like music, video games, books, and movies.
Right now you’re probably thinking “Okay, the motive for doing this makes sense, but your website looks like garbage.” Well… No disagreement there, but I gave myself the deadline of posting this on Friday, September 12, 2025 and that’s what I intend to do.
I’m sick of waiting on everything to be perfect, so I’m just gonna go ahead and start, and I can make things pretty as I go. My plan is to post one to two times per week, and maybe once I prove to myself that I can hold myself to a certain standard and create consistently, I’d like to also try my hand at creating content on YouTube. This is mostly for myself, but I hope you guys will also manage to get some inspiration and maybe follow along.
